Sportsmanship Pamphlet

Today I made a pamphlet for the last activity this week . This pamphlet is all about teaching others how to show sportsmanship and what it's all about. I liked this activity because it was a whole different way to present my work. The most challenging part about this was organizing all of the information.

How to show sportsmanship

This is another activity that we are doing to learn and understand what sportsmanship represents. This activity is all about how we can use sportsmanship in our everyday lives instead of just in sports. I really liked this activity because then this can help others in their community.

Sportsmanship Learning

This is one of the other activities we are doing for this week's work. This slide is about the three major Olympic values and how to be gracious. I really enjoyed doing this activity because allowed me to learn more about the Olympic games and also the meaning to be gracious while playing games.

My Current Events

Today we did a quiz on all of the current events that have been on the news and once we had finished the quiz everyone got to choose a specific question that they found interesting to research. I chose the question about NASA finding traces of lunar water on the sunlit side of the moon. I really enjoyed this activity because it allows me to figure out more about the subject instead of just writing something about a subject I already know about.

My Sportsmanship Word Map

This is the second activity I did this week and this one is about choosing a word and writing the definition, finding a picture that represents it, and writing a couple other facts. I think this activity really helped me understand and bit more about the word respect means and what it represents.

My Comparing and Contrasting Activity

WALT: Make connections by thinking about underlying ideas within and between texts.
This is my first activity for this week, it's about comparing the article about Marion Jones and the Spain basketball team and what they both did to win Olympic medals and how they regretted it later in their lives. I really enjoyed doing this activity because it allowed me to have a different understanding of both of the articles and how much everyone regrets their mistakes.

I really enjoyed this activity because as I was making the slides I got to learn some facts about him myself. The most challenging part of this was finding the right information for the questions I chose but once I found the right website it was much easier. Paroa School Disco Reflection

On the 6th of August, the Paroa disco was on and me and some other people were organizing it. We spent the whole day setting up the posters, food, and decorations. Firstly we had to make all of the posters inside to show people what's available and what the prices are.

Next, we decided to start making the food which was 50c bags of popcorn, $1 bags of lollies, and last but not least pre-packed bags of chips. Due to the virus, we had to wear masks and gloves so we weren't contaminating the food. In the last block, we had to start decorating which was the most stressful but the most fun. We had balloons and streamers and of course, party lights to light up the photo booth and the rest of the hall.

Overall I think the Disco went really well and that everyone enjoyed it. We also ended up selling all of the glowing things and most of the food.

The challenging part about this is trying to write about things that are about similar themes. If I could change anything about it I would probably add a couple more paragraphs but other than that I think it was really fun to make.
